I AM FINALLY IN KOREA. HOLY CRAP!
These past few days have been a crazy whirlwind of emotions. It feels so surreal! I can't really believe that I am doing this!
A quick recap of the past few days:
-Left on August 24th. That was totally the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Instead of saying "goodbye", I just said "see you later". I honestly think that this little difference made it a tiny bit easier~ It's factual though, it is not a true goodbye.
-Had 12 hour plane ride. NOT COOL, not cool. The stewardesses were so cute! They all are dressed so well, I love how classy Koreans are.
-6.5 HOUR LAYOVER. Awkwardly slept in the airport. Children stood near my face when I woke up.
- Arrived and met my host family August 25! They are the kindest people ever! I can't wait to get to know them better.
- August 26th ; had traditional korean dress fitting. Mine is going to have a burgandy top and gold bottom. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Pictured below is an example of the dress, called a Hanbok
-AFTER THE DRESS FITTING, I SLEPT.
-August 27th was my birthday. Mr and Mrs Yang, and JungJu (my host sister) bought me a cake, sang me happy birthday, and gave me 100,000 won (about $100.00 Canadian). JungJu and I went shopping at the world's largest department store, Shinsengae Centumcity Department Store. It was so amazing! I can't even begin to explain it! So many stores and shoes. Heaven? Yep.
^^ after shopping and dinner at the Outback Steakhouse; SLEPT.
And this bring me to today; I don't know what I am going to end up doing!
Korea is amazing, the people are amazing, and I can't wait for more of this adventure!
annyeonghi gaseyo for now! <3
[goodbye]
